What we do
Cars and four wheel drives, in one shed.
Most of what comes through the door is servicing, clutches and 4x4 work, but the list below is the full spread. If you are not sure which one your problem sits under, ring up and describe it.
Clutch repairs
Clutch diagnosis and replacement. It is the job Jack gets thanked for most often in his reviews.
4x4 vehicle repairs
Repairs and maintenance for four wheel drives, utes and touring vehicles that work harder than a runabout.
Auto electrical
Auto electrical fitting and fault finding, from accessories that will not power up to wiring that has given out.
Flywheel grinding
Machined in house rather than sent away, which keeps clutch jobs moving instead of waiting on someone else.
Accessory fitting
Bar work, lights, driving accessories and the rest, fitted and wired properly so nothing rattles loose.
Engine diagnostics
Scanning and diagnosis to find the actual fault before anyone starts replacing parts and hoping.
Gearbox repairs

Plenty of workshops take the clutch out, then send the flywheel away to be machined and wait for it to come back. That waiting is usually the reason a clutch job takes a week.
We do the grinding on site, which is a large part of why the clutch jobs in our reviews keep getting finished the next day, including for people who were only passing through Coffs and had nowhere else to turn.

Unfortunately, we had bad luck with our clutch while driving and truly didn’t know what to do. We were stranded in Coffs Harbour and found Jack on Google. We called him and were able to come by immediately, even though he was probably already very busy. The next day, everything was fixed and we could continue our journey with peace of mind. He also offers a service where, if something still isn’t right, you can come back for free. He is extremely reliable, explains everything clearly, and truly goes out of his way to help you. We definitely recommend Jack!! And the nicest part of all was that we even received a cute little souvenir for our keychain. Thanks again, Jack!

We had car troubles on our travels and everywhere was either closed or closing for Christmas. Jack went above and beyond, working beyond his Christmas trading hours to get us back on the road. I cannot believe the kindness and compassion of him, working into the night to help us out. I will recommend him to anyone I speak to. These kinds of people are hard to find! We are so so grateful to him.
LEGEND - Cannot even begin to explain the multitude of issues i have had with my car since purchasing it and in a few short weeks i feel like she is new again! Jack is by far the nicest and honest mechanic i have ever been to see. Even at the risk of him getting so busy it takes me a year to get back in (if needed) i think EVERYONE should see Jack for their mechanical needs. SERIOUSLY! Do it!
About the workshop
A local shed, on the highway that everybody drives.
Jack has been running the workshop on Marcia Street since 2018. It is the sort of place where you speak to the person doing the work, which is why so many of the reviews mention him by name.
Coffs Harbour sits halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, so a fair share of the work is people who have broken down mid trip and need to be moving again quickly. Locals get the same treatment: a clear explanation of what is wrong, a price before it starts, and no messing about.
